Blue Ray DVD Burner
Technology changes everyday and is especially true in electronics. Do you still remember "betamax"? Whenever a
new video player technology comes out, the recorder or burner follows pretty soon.
The Best Blu-Ray Burners
Blu-Ray is the best technology on the market! When it comes down to watching a show in 1080p, nothing beats the
hi-definition skills of the player, but what if you want to store your memories forever or just want to see all
your favorite pictures, home movies and everything on your TV, you're going to want a Blue Ray DVD Burner.
But what should you look for? The first step in buying a Blue Ray DVD Burner is to check it's speed. Obviously,
the faster the speed, the better off it's going to be. Ask the product placement person what the best value for
your money is. Most commercially available Blu-Ray burners burn at about 6x speed, but there are models that burn
at 12x speed, which would be nice because you can copy 25GB of information onto a Blu-Ray disc, 6 times more than a
DVD and 40 times more than a CD in just 11 minutes! If your media is already on DVD's, you will see some
improvement if you transfer it to Blu-Ray, but not much, because keep in mind the source material will reveal
limitations. Also, to really notice the difference, a new generation LED or Plasma HDTV may be required. That old
but reliable TV you've had for 15 years won't notice that much of a difference.
Also find out if the Blue Ray DVD Burner is USB 2.0 Compatible. Most models can
operate this but do so at a slower speed. Generally speaking, most times you won't get faster than 7x speed if it's
USB compatible, but the USB compatibility is good if you want to store media that you have on your computer and use
backups. Have them burned and then stored on discs if your computer crashes. A 500GB drive can be backed up in less
than a day and using only 20 discs.
Right now a blu-ray burner will cost quite a bit of money. Some Blue Ray DVD Burners that operate fast with
other media can run you $5,000 or more, but the good news is that some of the good
mid-line burners will only run you $250 or less. Watch for ones from flea markets as they may either be stolen
or of dubious quality, i.e. Chinese knock-offs.
In conclusion, a Blue Ray DVD Burner is a great investment that will allow you to treasure your moments in high
definition for years to come, whether it be that great party, graduation, wedding or promotion and you just want to
be there again and again to see it, nothing beats having it on Blu-Ray.
